Toast 1/2 c. butter 3 t. cinnamon (separated) 3 tart apples 1 c. dried cranberries 6 eggs 1 1/2 c. milk 1 loaf French bread or challah cut into 1 inch slices Melt butter and combine with brown sugar and 1 t. cinnamon in 13 x 9" casserole dish. Peel and thinly slice apples and coat with sugar mixture. Spread apple mixture evenly over bottom of pan. Place sliced bread over top of apples. Beat eggs and milk with 2t. cinnamon and pour over bread, covering evenly. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 375 and bake covered for 40 minutes. Uncover and continue baking 5 minutes longer. Let stand 5 minutes and serve. Yum! |
