SIMCHAT TORAH (Rejoicing in the Torah)
As the new Torah was unrolled throughout the sanctuary, the room buzzed with excitement as we greeted the book of Genesis as a whole. Temple Bat Yam celebrated Simchat Torah this year with two Torahs. One Torah had been rescued from the Holocaust and has been at home at Temple Bat Yam for many years. The new Torah was created this year expressly for Temple Bat Yam. Both Torahs symbolize our enduring hope that we will pass our traditions from generation to generation. With song and dance and great joy, Temple Bat Yam brought the Fall holidays to a close.
